Chelsea Investment Corporation and the County of San Diego have prepared a coordinated outreach program to engage the community and stakeholders in the redevelopment of the County’s former Crime Lab property at 5255 Mt. Etna Drive. This framework synchronizes the engagement process with the development process, allowing for public input to inform each planning task. While Chelsea conducts the engagement process related to the design of the site, the County secured a Community Plan Amendment (CPA) and prepared an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the CPA.

Demolition work is currently underway at the site; this work is expected to be completed in mid-2021. Subject to all applicable discretionary approvals by the City and County, ground breaking would be expected to occur in 2022 with a grand opening expected within 18-22 months. Interest/wait lists for prospective residents will open approximately six months before completion of construction.
